Day 2
Full day private guided tour of Bogotá’s historic centre – La Candelaria – including visits to the world-renowned Gold Museum and Botero Gallery, and a trip to Paloquemao Market.
La Candelaria is the heart and soul of Bogotá, with La Plaza de Bolívar as its focal point surrounded by the Cathedral, Congress, the Justice Palace and the Mayor’s Office. Visit the Gold Museum, which houses the continent’s most priceless gold masterpieces from Pre-Columbian societies; and the Museo de Botero, where renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero displays his private art collection, including works by Picasso, Renoir, Dali, Degas, Chagall, Matisse, Monet and Giacometti. Discover the Mercado de Paloquemao, one of Bogotá’s oldest food markets, taking in the colourful sights of exotic fruits, vegetables and flowers, and stop to try freshly made juices and other local delicacies.

Day 3
Bogotá - Zipaquirá - Bogotá
For some, this is a religious monument, whilst to others it’s a celebration of engineering or maybe even an artistic masterpiece. Carved underground within the solemn stone tunnels of a still-functioning salt mine, this church is complete with 14 chapels representing each of the Stations of the Cross. At the deepest point of the cathedral, 180m below the earth’s surface, you encounter the nave, dominated by a 16m-high central cross.

Day 4
Bogotá - Leticia
Private transfer to Bogotá El Dorado airport for your domestic flight to Leticia, for a 3 night stay in the Amazon Rainforest.
The Colombian Amazon forms part of the largest eco-system on the planet and occupies a third of the national territory. More than one third of the world’s species live in the Amazon Rainforest, a giant tropical forest and river basin with an area that stretches more than 5,400,000 sq km. The River Amazon runs through the Amazon jungle and is a lifeline for so many species and humans alike. The river provides water, fishing and habitat and without it many thousands of people and a far greater number of species of birdlife, mammals and marine life would not exist today. Using the river as your primary means of transport it is possible to visit indigenous tribes, see a staggering array of tropical flora and fauna, such as the famous pink river dolphins, and pass over the three borders of Colombia, Brazil and Peru.

Day 5
Morning tour to Matamata Brook around the Amacayacu Park. There, a canoe will pick you up to go back to your lodge (if the water level allows it). In the afternoon you will visit the El Vergel indigenous community.

You will learn about their traditional customs and local way of life, including the chance to engage in some local fishing. It’s the best way to see the way this delicate ecosystem in action and how it all fits together. Afternoon river trip to spot the Amazon’s famous pink dolphins.

Day 7
Leticia - Pereira or Armenia
Private transfer from your lodge to Leticia Airport for domestic flight to Pereira or Armenia, to visit Colombia’s famous Coffee Region – Zona Cafetera, a UNESCO Heritage Site. On arrival, you will be met by a Soliman Travel representative. Private transfer from airport to your hotel for a 3 night stay. The Triangulo del Café is made up of three departments – Caldas, Risaralda and Quindio. They run from north to south following the Central Andean Mountain Range and all three are flanked by the snow-capped peaks of the Parque Natural Los Nevados to the East.

Day 8
Full day private guided tour of Pijao, Cordoba and coffee experience at Café San Alberto. Offering a unique insight into the Colombian Coffee Region, you will visit the settlements of Cordoba, Pijao and Buena Vista, enjoy a typical lunch and learn about the coffee-making process in a traditional Hacienda.

Day 9
Full day tour to Filandia and Salento, two exquisitely preserved colonial towns with traditional, colourful Andean houses and balconies, followed by a walk through the spectacular landscape of the Cocora Valley, home to Colombia’s national tree, the slender Wax Palm.
