Cruise down the Amazon River in Peru

DAY 1

Home - Lima 

Upon arrival to Lima airport, you will be met by a Soliman Travel representative and transferred to your hotel. Evening at leisure in the capital city before beginning your journey further into Peru.

DAY 2

Lima - Iquitos

Iquitos City Tour

Transfer back to Lima Airport for your domestic flight to Iquitos. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and transfer via private vehicle for a panoramic tour of Iquitos city.

Iquitos - Nauta

After the tour, transfer overland to the city of Nauta about an hour's drive away. Along the way, you will see the vibrant "terra firma" (non-flooded forest) and various aspects of daily jungle life. Upon reaching Nauta, you will enjoy a VIP greeting at the Delfin's private port along the shores of the Marañon River. Embark the cruise.

Natua - Marayali / Pauhuachiro

The first excursion will be done by skiff to a location populated by sloths, iguanas, and anteaters. Birdwatchers are likely see the yellow-rumped caciques and the very elegant egrets.

DAY 3

Fundo Casual Hike - Yanayacu Pucate / Shamana

Morning hike along the Fundo Casual jungle trail. Biologically, this forest is one of the richest habitats on earth, supporting a vast number of plant and animal species. Among the flora, your guide will show you the giant Ceiba (kapok) tree. As for the fauna, you will spot birds such as the Bluish-fronted Jacamar, Collared Trogons and Red-capped Cardinal. This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - you may even see the famous pink dolphins!

DAY 4

Amazon Park Canopy Walk - Nauta Caño                                  

Morning walk along the only canopy walkway in the Pacaya-Samiria area, to gain a unique viewpoint of the rainforest ecosystem, from a height of over 25m. The walkway extends for 500m, between 14 large trees, and is one of the longest in the world; and yet no special skills or equipment are needed to enjoy it. At certain times of the year, the water level of the Amazon can rise as much as 10m, flooding huge areas of forest. This seasonally flooded forest is known as varzea and is ideal for exploration by boat. Afternoon boat-ride to explore a narrow creek called Nauta Caño, a side branch of the Marañon River, which enters part of the Pacaya-Samiria National Park. After dusk, you can appreciate the sounds of the nighttime jungle symphony. It is also a great time to spot different, nocturnal species, such as: Night Herons; Spectacled Owls; Nightjars; Fish Bats; Black Caiman; and various species of frogs.

DAY 5

Yarapa River 

Opportunity to explore this tributary intimately. During the High Water season (November - May), you will have the option to kayak here as well as visit the Amazonas Village, where you can take a short jungle walk to meet local villagers who have called Amazonia their home for generations.

DAY 6

Nauta - Iquitos                 

Visit the Manatee Rescue Centre

After disembarking the cruise, private transfer overland from Nauta to the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals (ACOBIA) where you will have the chance to meet baby manatees and learn about these wonderful and docile creatures and why they are on the endangered species list. 

Iquitos - Lima

Continue to Iquitos airport for your domestic flight back to Lima. Upon arrival you will be met by a Soliman Travel representative who will transfer you to your hotel.

DAY 8

Lima - Home 

Private transfer to Lima airport for your flight back home.
